Chris Matty: News & Notes

Hello all,
So sorry for the lack of updates, been crazy busy with alot of things.

First, besides being a songwriter/producer, I am also a music instructor for Music Notes Academy, a great school here in the central Jersey area, check out the website (www.musicnotesacademy.com)

I completed a mix for my songwriting partner, Erin Murphy-Dunn on a song called "Go On", I also played some guitar and bass for this track as well. Check it out at www.myspace.com/erinmurphydunn
On the Kerri Edelman front, we are in full force, most of the vocals are done, we have one more song to track lead vocals to, and then some some harmonies and such. I have been holed up in the studio tracking all the extra guitars, keyboards, and support tracks for the songs.
Officially this looks to be a 10 song record, 9 songs with a bonus track at the end.
We are on schedule (so far) to be finished tracking and editting by the end of June, and the mix will commence in the beginning of July.
From there we take it to NYC to Sterling Sound, where George Marino (Metallica) will master the record.
Look for the record to be released sometime in the August/September timeframe.

Back to the grindstone, more work to be done.

Hello all,
back int he studio again today with Kerri, cutting vocals for another song today, mid-temp rocker, we haven't decided on a name for this one yet. You could feel the energy in the studio. The tracks were poppin. As usual, she gave 200% of herself. Look out world!

Hello all,
This weekend was killer, and I'm not talking about the 5k race I ran on Sunday.

Kerri was back in the studio this weekend cutting vocals for a new song called "Vanilla Skies" The trax were slamming, as she was dead on. Lots of cool stuff to put together for this song.
Its got an up beat feel, kinda of a cross between an LA 4 to the floor groove, mixed with a melodic pop alternative, if that makes sense.
The songs are really coming together, look for record to be completed in June (if we work really hard and make the scheduled deadline!!)

Hello All,
Things are progressing nicely with Kerri. She is a fantastic vocalist and such a hard working musician. We have almost completed the basic tracks for the 9 songs on her record, 2 more to go. She has completed lead vocals for about 3 tracks. Working titles include: Run, Sinking In and Anther Life.
All I can say about these tracks are Wow!!, Slamming, some great pop rock, melodic Alternative.
